Easy. Subscribe using our PayPal button on the Level page that is right for you, and a CPA will contact you within 24 hours. See “Ok, I’m in. How does this work?” for the step by step.
This really depends on you. We have five levels to choose from based on your needs, strength and stability in the market, and revenue expectations. If you are just starting out, we recommend Level I. It’s tailored to the new entrepreneur or real estate professional. However, if you know your business and have reasonable expectations of the current year’s revenue, than Level II or Level III would make more sense. Level IV and Level V are for more seasoned veterans with well established clientele.
When joining our monthly accounting and tax services, our clients have the option of using any major credit card. We provide PayPal for an extra layer of security. PayPal uses the latest anti-fraud technology to help make sure your transactions are safe. Remember our fee is 100% deductible for tax purposes.
Even if you have been in business for months or years, or just starting out, we can have you up and running in just one or two business days. Our team works fast to make sure there is seamless integration and transition.
Not a problem at all. Sometimes this is a conversation we actually initiate with our client’s. If you or even we feel you need to change your level of service, we can do just that. Our goal is to partner with our clients for the long term. If we don’t work together toward the same goal of seeing you succeed, this relationship will not last.
Everything you need to keep your business moving in the right direction, tailored to your company’s needs. When you sign up with the Nealson Group, your company now has a full service accounting and tax team. That’s an accounting team and a CPA for one monthly price that is fully tax deductible.
You may scan your documents to us, or we will send you a self addressed stamped envelope each month. Then we will scan your receipts and mail them back to you. No shoeboxes with unorganized receipts, please. Remember, we are professionals serving professionals.
Absolutely! We’ll only hold them if you want us to. Unlike other firms, we will return all of your documents no questions asked.
No. This is the major benefit of working with the Nealson Group. Unlike other CPA firms, who start billing as soon as your name shows up on their caller ID or email inbox; your calls and emails to us are included. At the Nealson Group, we encourage our client’s to contact us when they need help with a complex idea, simple tax question, or even a new business idea. We want to be your partner. Hard to do that if you can’t pick up the phone, shoot us an email, or schedule a Skype session.
As a CPA that worked at top ten national firms, I found too often clients afraid to call with tax or accounting questions because of the hourly fee, generally $300-400/hour. Only to find out at the end of the year we have a situation that could have been solved with a quick call.
We don’t want our clients to feel like they have to rush the conversation because of the pending bill. So we have included unlimited support with each of our service levels. Need to speak with your accountant or CPA, no problem. Give them a call, get them on Skype, or drop them an email.
Sure. However, we encourage our clients to incorporate because of the extra legal protection, reduction in taxes, and tax planning it provides.
The Nealson Group is a location independent firm. We are physically located in Boca Raton, FL but have partners on both coasts. We utilize technological advances to keep us close to our clients. Skype, is used for video conferences. Viber and Whatzup works best for some of our international clients. LogMeIn and Join.me gives us remote access when we need to see what you see.
Absolutely. We maintain a policy of strict confidence concerning the affairs of our clients. We sign and send you a confidentiality agreement, as an extra layer of assurance. No one will learn about you business or tax status; not even relatives or friends that might have referred you.
When applying for a line of credit or a small business loan, lenders my request copies of your financial statements and tax returns. The Nealson Group is a CPA firm, we are subject to strict regulations and guidelines concerning client confidentiality. We are only able to release your information if we have your permission in writing. If you need to send copies to a third party, we will ask that you sign a Consent to Disclose Form, and we’ll take it from there.
As many accounts as you would like to use. However, we strongly recommend setting up a business bank account and business credit card account. When your business and personal assets comingle you run the risk of “piercing the corporate veil”. Basically, allowing creditors to come after your personal assets. Also, the IRS loves documentation, so keeping your personal and business expenses separate allows the Nealson Group to maximize your deductions and minimize your taxes.
Yikes, bite your tongue. Well, we won’t turn our back on you. If you need time to gather more funding, or you want to completely restructure your business model; we can suspend you account three to six months. However if there’s just no way in heck you’re getting back in the saddle. We will return all of your documentation, including any tax returns we’re holding on your behalf, no questions asked. We will return any and all money paid to us in advance.
Once you subscribe using our secure PayPal button, a CPA will contact you to get further information. He’ll need to discuss the basics; your contact information, business information, computer and scanning capabilities, etc. Based on some of your answers, we will discuss some tax planning options (i.e. business use of your home and vehicle, record retention, meals and entertainment). We’ll need to talk about your business so we can set up your books. We use QuickBooks Online. This allows us and you to work from anywhere, and it gives you the ability to see your financial data in real time.
We will send you a standard engagement letter, (if you’ve ever worked with a CPA this will not be new), which lets us start to go to work right away. We encourage you to read the letter (even have an attorney read it if need be), and we can talk you through any part you may not understand. We took extra care to keep the legal mumbo jumbo to a minimum. We will also send you a non-disclosure form signed by us. This lets you know that anything that is discussed between you and a member of the Nealson Group is completely confidential. (Please note, this does not hold the same weight as attorney client privilege, that is only available with your attorney)
If you already have your receipts, business credit card and business bank statements in order, we will send you a self addressed stamped envelope, so you can drop them in the mail, or you may scan them and email them to us. Each month we will need to download your transactions from your bank, and prepare a PDF copy as backup. Most business banking accounts allow you to add your CPA as a “Sub-User”, or offer different level’s off access.* The Nealson Group would only need ‘read-only’ access. This allows us to work behind the scenes, and complete your monthly accounting so we can prepare your financial statements and tax returns.
*Check with your banks business specialist. They can either walk you through the process or link you to Tutorial that will give you the play by play.
Monthly or quarterly (depending on the level you choose), we will supply you with financial statements. This includes comparative Balance Sheet and Income Statement. We understand that you are not an accountant, and even if you are wiz in your industry, you might not be able to truly understand what it all means. So, give us a call, send us an email, or schedule a Skype session. There’s no charge.
Remember we are your partner. We encourage you to contact us with any and all of your questions, plus did I mention there’s no charge. Your financials are the most objective way to assess the health of your business. If you can’t recognize what the numbers are telling you, and numbers don’t lie, what good are they? So pick up the phone, shoot us an email, or schedule a Skype session. Really.
Close to the end of the year, your CPA will contact you with a request to schedule a tax planning meeting. We will discuss any new items or challenges you faced during the year, any adjustments we feel need to be made, and what we expect for the year to come.
Scan it and send it to us right away! The very worst thing you can do is ignore the notice. Even worse is paying the amount the IRS is asking for, without checking with us first. The IRS makes mistakes all the time, and sometimes (ok many times) their master computer will send you a letter without knowing all the facts. You pay the bill, and now we have to make many phone calls and wait weeks or months to get your money back.
